Clinical Supervision

Reflective, person-centered supervision for developing counselors.

"There is not one right way to conduct counseling. There are countless right ways depending on individual client, counselor, and contextual factors."
— Douglas Guiffrida

My Supervision Philosophy

I believe becoming a counselor is about more than learning theories or completing supervision hours. It is about discovering who you are as a clinician and developing a way of practicing that feels genuine, thoughtful, and true to your values.

My goal is not to create counselors who think, conceptualize, or practice exactly as I do. Instead, I want to create a space where you can ask questions, think critically, reflect on your experiences, and develop confidence in your own clinical voice.

I believe every counselor brings unique strengths, life experiences, perspectives, and ways of connecting with clients. Supervision should help you build on those strengths rather than replace them. Together, we'll explore your clinical work, celebrate what's going well, work through challenges, and help you become the kind of therapist you want to be.

My role is to support, encourage, challenge, and guide you throughout that process. Sometimes that means teaching a new skill, sometimes it means asking thoughtful questions, and other times it simply means creating space for reflection. As you grow, my role naturally changes so that you become increasingly confident making your own clinical decisions.

My supervision is informed by person-centered, developmental, and constructivist approaches. These frameworks remind me that every clinician learns differently, develops at their own pace, and benefits from a supervision relationship built on trust, curiosity, reflection, and meaningful feedback.
