Therapy rooted in warmth, clarity, and meaningful connection.
At Sienna Stone Counseling & Wellness, therapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens through safety, trust, and meaningful connection. This is a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of the experiences, relationships, and patterns that have shaped your life.
I'm Marcella Parrish, MA, LCPC, LPC, owner of Sienna Stone Counseling & Wellness, a therapist, educator, and doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision. My work is rooted in warmth, curiosity, collaboration, and deep respect for each person's lived experience.
I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, grief and loss, and perfectionism. I have a special interest in supporting people in demanding careers, including those in healthcare and aviation, as well as frequent travelers, couples, and newlyweds.
My therapeutic style is rooted in the belief that meaningful growth happens within a relationship where you feel genuinely understood, accepted, and valued. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to be anyone other than yourself. I believe therapy is not about fixing who you are. It is about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been overshadowed by pain, expectations, or life's challenges and creating space for those parts to emerge.
At the heart of my work is a person-centered approach. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and that you already possess the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. My role is not to direct your journey or provide all of the answers, but to walk alongside you with empathy, authenticity, curiosity, and genuine presence. Together, we will explore your experiences, deepen self-awareness, and better understand the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and values that shape your life. As greater understanding develops, I believe lasting change naturally follows.
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I thoughtfully integrate evidence-based approaches based on your goals, needs, and lived experience.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wayne State University and am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at The George Washington University. My clinical and academic work is deeply connected through a shared commitment to thoughtful, ethical, and inclusive care.
I have also completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2, allowing me to incorporate research-based approaches that help couples strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and deepen emotional connection.
In addition to providing therapy, I have experience in clinical supervision, counselor education, and training future mental health professionals. These roles continue to shape the way I approach therapy with intention, reflection, and compassion.

My hope is that therapy becomes one of the few places where you feel fully accepted without needing to have everything figured out. A place where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, trust yourself a little more, and discover that meaningful growth often begins by embracing who you already are.
If you're ready to begin therapy or simply have questions about whether we're the right fit, I'd be honored to connect with you.
